Paul Atwell DW Collection "Pier Tables", 1996 Ardley Hall Furniture
Tall lamp table, or pier table; pair. Pier tables were a typically English form, simply taller tables to act as "piers" anchoring either side of a formal interior doorway.
These examples are of carved plantation mahogany bases showing a strong asian style influence, in an heirloom, or "physically distressed" finish. The tops are tightly pieced mactan stone tops. Mactan is an asian volcanic stone typically mined undersea, especially off the Philippine isand of Mactan. Elaborately carved friezes and gold tone accent decoration.
32"W x 19"D x 32"H
Very good condition, former showroom samples. Former property of New England regional sales executive, Ardley Hall Furniture.
