Frank Lloyd Wright "Taliesin Ensemble" Collectors Study Guide, 4th Edition, 2011
At age 86, Frank Lloyd Wright teamed with the Heritage-Henredon organization to create his first furniture collection intended for the mass market. The group was called "Taliesin," or the "Taliesin Ensemble," which referenced the additional manufacturers that joined the project to produce related home fashion products. The Taliesin furniture group consisted of 63 pieces.
In many ways, Taliesin was ahead of its time. In November 1955, when this group was first introduced, both the decorating world and the homeowner herself had trouble finding an application for the group that "fit." At that time, Taliesin didn't seem to work with traditional stylings, nor did it fit in with the "new modern," which was often made out of space age materials of plastic and metal.
It's for exactly this reason that the Taliesin items from Heritage-Henredon are so useful today. Taliesin seems to bridge the styles, pulling together so many things that are considered "modern."
We have extensive background about this group on file. We do not, however, yet have a copy of the original catalog material. If anyone would care to share this material, we'd be deeply obliged. We're happy to offer here these four items from Frank Lloyd Wright's "Taliesin Collection," from 1955.

Below is a photo of the round table shown in the dining room of the Cheney House in Oak Park, IL. It was Mrs. Cheney with whom Wright carried on a tabloid sensationalized affair for many years.
The second below is a House Beautiful photo of the round table, but with a different edge detail than the copper molding which was used in production.
