"Flexible Home Arrangements"
by Eliel Saarinen, et. alia,
for Johnson Furniture 1939/1948
|
Offered here is the 3rd Edition of our “Flexible Home Arrangements” Collector Guide reviewing Eliel Saarinen’s 1939 furniture collection designed in conjunction with his daughter Pipsan and son-in-law Bob Swanson. We’ve completed new research, revisiting both the archives at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and the Grand Rapids Public Library where the Johnson Furniture archive remains.
|
The primary feature of the new material is a 20 page heavily illustrated history of the FHA Collection. Also included is color photography produced by MassModern, based on FHA items we have handled, including design details of both the “Basic” and the “S Series” groups. Construction and design details are highlighted, as is further information about Eliel Saarinen’s legacy of Cranbrook designers.
